Our Executive Director
We are excited to introduce to you the 2nd Executive Director of Young Catholic Professionals!
Peter Blute graduated from the University of Dallas in 2011 with a degree in English and a concentration in business. After two years working in Italy for UD's study-abroad program he moved back to Dallas and spent a year working in marketing and sales.
Looking to rediscover his Catholic faith as a young adult, Peter first became involved with YCP as a member in 2013. Inspired by the community and the opportunity to make an impact through leadership, he soon stepped in as the volunteer President of the YCP Dallas chapter and later joined Jennifer Baugh on the YCP Staff in 2014.
Peter resides in Dallas with his wife and 3 beautiful daughters and loves to spend any free time sailing.

Favorite Work-Day Spiritual Devotions:
The Angelus: Peter often prays the Angelus during the work day, meditating on Mary’s “yes” and asking for the graces to say “yes” to whatever he is called to in the day.
The Prayer to St. Joseph: This prayer given to us by Pope St. Pius X is a practical roadmap for work done vigorously, humbly, and with joy. Praying it increases Peter’s desire to align his work with God’s work.
Lessons Learned at YCP
“Prayer feeds work, then work can become prayer.”
Most importantly, to trust in God's graces and His plan, not getting stuck thinking it's our job to do this work alone. It's a wonderful balance when we see opportunities and can offer them to God for his purposes, then put our head down and work hard to achieve them until he shares that there's a different direction for us to go.
“Lord, help me think differently. Show me Your way!”
It is natural for us to get stuck in certain ways of thinking. Peter’s time at YCP has taught him to be resourceful and find ways to continue infusing his work with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Peter’s Hope for YCP
"YCP is reaching thousands of young people today, helping them move from a feeling of disconnection, a lack of direction, and sometimes even loneliness to a purpose-driven life in community with peers who are asking many of the same important questions about faith and their careers. We come to know Christ in part because we see Him in others. YCP's opportunity is to deepen these connections, and to expose millions of young workers to this life-giving mission who don't yet know the hope that comes from Working in Witness for Christ!"

st. pius x prayer to st. joseph
O Glorious Saint Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work in the spirit of penance for the expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, moderation, and patience, never shrinking from weariness and trials; to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, keeping unceasingly before my eyes death and the account that I must give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch, Saint Joseph. Such shall be my watch-word in life and in death. Amen.
